Why do we need to practice mindfulness? Children and adults?

MINDFULNESS is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of what is going on within us and also around us. Practising mindfulness can help us learn about our own emotions and how to handle them but also help us feel more grateful and emphatic towards others and the environment around us. In our busy daily schedules it gives us the opportunity to take a positive break to re-charge, while acknowledging any thoughts or worries but not focussing on them. I offer mindful meditative walks for adults in Bedford’s beautiful parks and I offer school visits to help children and teenagers to live more mindfully.

Our mindfulness workshops will help children & teenagers to learn:

  • how to recognise and regulate their emotions

  • how to understand and balance feelings like frustration and anger

  • how to calm themselves and let go of stressful thoughts so they can enjoy the current moment again and sleep better

  • how to deal with anxiety and worries so they can enjoy school life and perform better

  • how to be a good friend to others, know how to show empathy and gratefulness towards others

Since August 2021 I’m a fully qualified and insured Meditation Teacher for children and teenagers. I trained with Connected Kids and I’m very happy to visit primary schools for a one-off session on a special day like Mental Health Awareness Day or Children’s Mental Health week. Mindfulness activities are interactive and can be combined with story massage.

Please contact me for availability. I offer 1 free session per school per year!

Mindful meditative walks in Bedford

Mindful Meditative Walks for adults in Bedford’s Parks

FREE

In early 2023 I qualified as Mindfulness Practionner for adults and then trained to become a Mindful Walking Teacher shortly afterwards. I practice this form of walking meditation now regularly for myself and also offer a free session every month with the kind permission of Events Team at Bedford Council’s Park Team.

Are you interested in a meditative walk in one of Bedford’s beautiful parks? Join us for a very slow silent walk and mindful activities like breathing exercises and body scan. You can book your space on my Eventbrite page where you will also find more details about dates, times, and locations as well as more information on the activity and its benefits: https://mindfulnessandmassage.eventbrite.com
